Blush in the Nude - Inspiration boards

Through the pages of fashion, my inspiration was awakened by the simplicity of blush and nude colors for this up-coming spring season.

For the fashion-forward bride, keep your eyes open for sheer fabrics, peek-a-boos with lace and slits, ballerina styles, new necklines, and sleeves! Thank you, Sarah Burton, for bringing this timeless classic back!

White has runaway into the history pages and has been replaced with sheer elegance.

Pixies and Pirates Birthday Party

What a bitter-sweet experience it meant to plan my daughter's first birthday party! I can hardly believe that a year has gone by and am also so full of joy with each day I spend with her.
I have to give out some blog love - first of all, to Jeff Jones for doing an incredible job with capturing the moment wit his business, SnapitPhotography; thank you so much for the pictures!

I am so happy with the way these invitations turned out,
thank you so much for all your beautiful work!

Each little girl received a pair of fairy wings, pixie dust, and a fairy-wand! I thought it was especially cute that the wands had bells insides - so the girls sounded like fairies running through the forest.

Salted caramel cupcakes were a rich delight! I still say you should start your own business, Beka! Your cupcakes were such a hit - thank you!

What are your New Years Resolutions?

Welcoming 2012!!!

Last year, I tried crunching so many stressful goals for my life and looking back, some of them weren't all that important. I felt prisoner to my own expectations. I allowed disappointment for not reaching my objectives. In this moment, I heard myself thinking,
"This is only the beginning of life - your story isn't over yet."
It gave me new perspective for this new year.

Little do we know of life's uncertainties.... and maybe it is these uncertainties that lead us into the realm of adventure. We want life to happen NOW and find it unbearable to obey patience. We loose sight of the present.

If you feel confined in the moment, shake that feeling off; because your story is only just beginning. No matter how old or young, with breath still in our lungs - we still have time to accomplish much! So, my New Years resolution for 2012 is to pursue my dreams and simply pursue. Live like to the fullest and embrace every minute the good and the bad.

For brides - enjoy every second of your wedding planning. Embrace the details, take those walks with your fiance and dream about the future together. Relax, things will come together beautifully.

For girls who are married - fall in love with every present moment and treasure life.

My New Years Resolution? Enjoy today!
What are yours?

Be Bold, Be Beautiful - Be INDIE

In the last couple years, weddings have taken on a whole new approach from tradition to seek a hunger and thirst for bridal eye candy. I give applause to the bride who continues to break the barriers of design. She strives for originality and to tell a story throughout the woven day of bridal bliss. Words are strained in the thesaurus and across the web for images that tells us chic, indie, bohemian, mod, vintage, colorful, fresh, and girly. The bride who reaches to be uniquely different.

So what could be more unique then an indie wedding gown? Your gown is your fingerprint on wedding history, you deserve a gown that not everyone else has. This has sparked my own curiosity in the search for independent designers.

Out of all these, I felt most inspired by ouma.

If indie gowns simply don't met your fancy, here are some other bold beautiful brides to spark your creativity. Who says the gown must be white?
Be divine.

If you aren't interested in saving your gown for future use, take it underwater for a fanciful photoshoot.

Be daring, be different, be impractical, be anything that will assert integrity of purpose and imaginative vision against the play-it-safers, the creatures of the commonplace, the slaves of the ordinary.
