Love; in Font and Paper

When I receive a wedding invitation in the mail, I eagerly anticipate ripping the crisp envelope open to reveal a hint of what the bride and groom's wedding will be. No one can deny the quality of embossed calligraphy or the earthy elegance to recycled paper. Today, the happy couple has a vast variety of choices, till they find the perfect invitation, telling the special recipient, "This is... us."

I have several favorite card companies, but I chose some of the popular and a few of my special favorites. Below, you will see and I will explain 'why' I chose them.

"Wedding Paper Divas" has many different styles and choices for today's bride; but one of my favorite features on their site, would be their photo invitations. I haven't found very many chic photo wedding cards, but these are simply adorable - with many different styles to choose from! I love the one below: the front shows the bride and groom, the back shows-off some sexy stripes!

I recently found "The Green Kangaroo" on Facebook and this chic card company instantly impressed me! I had to feature the Chevron-print invitation, especially for Jenelle, because she's in love with this print right now. :) I love their choice of fonts and the beauty of their simplicity. Gorgeous invitations!

"I Dream of Letters" blew me away. I happened upon Elizabeth's blog, "I Dream of Letters" while googling for 'peacock wedding invitations.' Needless to say, I found myself amazed by her talents! Her work might be on the pricier side, but their is no arguing - this is art! She is a wizard when it comes to a pen and a jar of ink - definitely a work of art.

"Ruby and Willow" made me regret having done my own invitations; because for the first time I understood WHY an invitation was important. Maybe it's just me, but I am a paper-addict and I love the feel of good quality paper in my fingertips. Immediately, I saw quality in their work; every detail perfectly implemented to create a beautiful piece of art. Their color and styles are always up-to-date and following the trends a modern bride seeks to find.

I felt like stepping back in time and getting a milkshake the moment I viewed "Love Vs. Design." A touch of vintage, with an edge of modern. You can't help loving these invitations and wanting to BE at the whatever the wedding it calls you to! Their designs are fun, classy, and adorable.

To end, I hope you feel inspired at the images of color, font, and styles of paper. Thank you for viewing The Glass Slipper!

Irish Spring Romance - inspiration board

If you have been following my blog, you might begin to notice a pattern of my beginning obsession with the color chartreuse. It's not a color very common to the human eye, but recently after a stunning show of display at the 2012 Spring fashion show, Jason Wu wowed the crowd when he went over-the-top bold!

You have to admit, your eyes did a double-take dance! I know mine did! Chartreuse has finally had her opportunity to break forth into the fashion industry and although I can't see this particular color lingering with us for fashion decades to come, I will say I will appreciate it while she's here to influence us. Note: this color is only meant for the boldest of brides!

This color is EXTREMELY daring and beautiful on the right person (if I'm blunt, some would say "hideous" on the wrong person); but I believe for a wedding, it's not so drastic once you relax it a few shades into a pastel. THIS would compliment almost any other color for a perfect spring/summer wedding.

I will be stalking them with their invitations to come, because I think I'm in love with their designs!
