The Beginning of Something New

     My whole life I have held myself back from reaching for my dreams. Or rather, my dreams hold themselves back from me; but something changed. I'm not sure what yet, except that I pushed back the barriers holding me down and am pursuing opening my Wedding Consultant business: "The Glass Slipper."

Ever since I can remember, Wedding & I have been in love with each other. I would beg my Mother for catalogs in the grocery aisle, rush home, and eagerly begin marking pages of anything my delighted brown eyes were attracted to. Amusingly, not much has changed.


It's been quite a journey coming to this point; but through opposition and determination, I now have utter confidence in myself to pave new roads for inspirational weddings and events. This fall, I am on schedule to graduate and join the Association of Bridal Consultants (the only way to be certified). I am designing a bride's wedding for this fall and am thrilled with the artistic details! However, my newest obstacle has been locating artistic vendors in the Toledo, OH area. We seem to be stuck in the 80's out here, with pillars/columns, tulle, and Christmas lights (three of my biggest peeves in wedding design). Though a bit discouraged, I am also excited at the new endeavor for illuminating my brides to the biggest day of their life! I hope to push past the traditions of old and broaden our abilities for something new; but always keeping it tasteful & classy. And not only for brides, but also vendors and anyone seeking new ideas.

I cannot help to contain my excitement for the future! And please, do excuse me if it jumps off these pages and spreads to you - feel free to blame me. No more barriers, this is only the beginning of something new.
